Who I Am
My name is Matteo, I was born in 1991, and I have been developing software for over fifteen years, ten of which have been as a freelancer.
I started working right after graduation. Important family events led me to enter the professional world quickly, giving up university but never stopping my continuous education.
Over time, I have built solid expertise as a
PHP and JavaScript developer, specializing in the creation of web applications, management software, complex portals, and API integrations.
I strongly believe in a simple approach: understand the problem, design the solution, write clean code.
Where I Started
My first real project was developing a
social network written completely from scratch.
This was a foundational experience that allowed me to deeply understand:
- Backend and frontend architecture
- PHP and JavaScript
- jQuery and AJAX
- MySQL and initial approaches to non-relational databases
- Teamwork with designers and developers
Even though the project was not a commercial success, it served as a massive technical training ground that laid the foundation for my career.
The Project-Based Contract
Next, I worked at a tech company focused on call centers and digital marketing.
My responsibilities included:
- Developing landing pages for major brands
- Project management for a web chat software
- Integrations via Google Tag Manager
- Customizations on open-source platforms
Here, I consolidated important skills:
- Bootstrap
- Advanced Vanilla JavaScript
- REST APIs
- Object-Oriented PHP (OOP)
Freelancing & Self-Employment
Since 2015, I have been working as a
freelancer.
Over the years, I have collaborated with web agencies, companies, and professionals, developing:
- A telemedicine portal
- Android and iOS web apps
- A job search portal
- Custom WordPress sites
- A portal in the fashion industry
Many of these projects are visible in the portfolio section of this site.
Complex Management Software and Enterprise Projects
In recent years, together with a colleague, I developed two large management systems (ERPs) for an insurance company.
Internal Management Software
- Customer management
- Insurance policies
- Daybooks / financial logs
- Insurance products
Quoting Management Software
- Car insurance
- Motorcycle insurance
- Truck insurance
- Guarantees and coverages
Technologies used:
- PHP
- MySQL
- REST APIs
- Node.js microservices (Express, Axios)
- OCR integration and AI models
- External APIs
We developed a
proprietary internal framework to manage the entire infrastructure.
Why I Don't Bind Myself to a Single Framework
I know how to work with Laravel, WordPress, React, Next.js, and many other technologies, but I do not define myself by a specific framework.
I consider myself a
Chameleon Artisan Coder:
- I adapt quickly
- I choose the best tool based on the specific project
- I love clean code
- I study constantly
Why I Look for Full-Remote Work
I live with a physical disability that makes daily commuting complex.
For me,
full-remote work is not a luxury or a matter of comfort; it is the condition that enables me to perform at my absolute best.
In return, I offer:
- Maximum reliability
- Consistent availability
- Clear communication
- High autonomy
Collaboration or Employment?
I am open to both solutions.
I prefer to start with a B2B collaboration under my
VAT number (partita IVA), and later evaluate a potential full-time employment arrangement.
Conclusion
If you are looking for a developer who thinks before writing code, builds robust solutions, and takes ownership of responsibilities, we could work very well together.
Thank you for your time.
